The Cleveland Church of Christ, Citadel of Hope Ministries
We stand on the Word of God and deliver its message of hope to all. For what is a man or woman without hope? They are just creatures most miserable. But through the shed blood and broken body of Jesus Christ, we have hope for victorious living in this present world and hope for life eternal beyond the grave. As we progress together may we do so as taught in John 4:24 “God is a Spirit; and they that worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth.” We are committed to giving God true worship, the worship He so richly deserves. I look forward to seeing you on Wednesday at Power Night our Spirit-led Bible class and our Sunday Morning Worship Services. Join us as we embrace our responsibilities in faithful stewardship here as we praise the Lord Jesus Christ and journey through this life together.

Peace and many blessings to you and yours,
Bishop Lincoln C. Haughton, III
Senior Pastor

Our History

Founded in 1925, the Cleveland Church of Christ was established by the Presiding Apostle of the Church of Our Lord Jesus Christ, the late Bishop Hubert Spencer. In 1955, Elder James R. Haughton, Sr. and his family joined a small group of believers who met at 36th and Central Avenue under the direction of Elder Thomas Bookman. Elder Haughton labored with Elder Bookman to minister to the small but growing congregation that moved to 959 Parkwood Drive. In 1957, Elder Haughton was appointed as pastor of the church after the Lord called Elder Bookman home from labor to reward.
